How to Sell Your Bakery Well?

We 're selling the firm .

Last year, I published a lot of articles about bakeries and candy stores, and with this article, I want to return to a series of publications that will make it easier for you to sell your business.

How well do you sell your business? Everyone wants to get the highest possible price for their business. The price of a business depends on many factors that investors pay attention to.

Whether long-term preparations for the future guarantee a successful transaction

Unfortunately, this kind of preparation doesn't always have the desired effect, and sometimes you can miss the moment when a large group of bakery capital is expanding or when the industry is experiencing an unexpected acceleration, and then you have to sell a network of bakeries or bakeries right here and now even though they're not ready to sell.

A second chance at that kind of money may never happen again.

The economic situation is important

There are times of growth and stagnation in the economy, and when there is a downturn, capital is looking for investment, and then companies are selling high, because the good investor moods are accompanied by a lot of money that can be made from them, but no matter what the macroeconomic climate is, preparing a bakery for sale should start now.

You have to prepare it for sale so that the bakery is a soft snack for investors, a condition for selling your stake well!

Plan of preparation for sale of the company

Selling a business is a process. It should be planned and written down in time like a road map. Instead of making one detailed plan, you should make several plans according to different options.

There's another advantage to a flexible plan based on variations: it's invaluable when negotiating the final sale of a bakery. A prepared company sells much more efficiently, not just because it's prepared, but because the owner has gained knowledge and awareness of what the market value is during the preparation.

And that's because the owner has discovered a lot of alternatives to choose from, and selling a candy store or bakery is no longer the only option for him, and that awareness is very helpful for negotiations.

Market research

In addition to the plan for preparing a bakery for sale, the market must also be monitored. Industry newspapers have a lot of signals and messages, such as information about new baking technology, the expansion of a cafeteria network, changes in tariffs or in the labour code.

Any such information about the future can have a huge impact on the present value of a candy or bakery network.

Actively seeking investors

Over the years, I've been buying companies, and I've noticed that it's us, the investors, who have the owners of the companies, that we've just been looking at their offer of sale.

Analysis of other transactions

The value of a business is the multiple of the cash flows. This is what the theory says. The practice is different, the value of the business is often derived from the value of previous sales of other similar companies.

The price of sales depends on many factors, the location of the stores, the local market, the new unused technology or the patent belonging to the bakery, so the value of the bakery does not have to depend on the size of the cash flow.

At the same time, they must also use the valuation of their holdings by independent experts.

Experienced investment advisors advise that companies that are looking for a buyer stand out in the marketplace. This view is expressed by Curtis Kroeker of BizBuySell.com, in his article, Selling Your Business: Timing is Everything.

The market for business sales is competitive, so it's important to invest time and effort to differentiate your company from other companies, and differentiation should take into account the historical and current operations and characteristics, as well as future growth opportunities for which your company is better positioned.

Business intermediaries can be very helpful in this regard and can use their knowledge and experience in the local sales market for businesses to help distinguish key areas of differentiation from other opportunities within the same industry/or geographical area.

How many years of our lives have we spent building it? How much sweat and tears have we shed to make a bakery or a candy store what it is today? If we decide to sell a bakery, we shouldn't leave it to blind chance.

Life's circumstances may force us to sell our bakery in a hurry, and without proper discernment and preparation, we may lose the chance of making big money for ourselves and our family.
